New Rules for Series III

Development and prep for the SoulStorm Brew Super Series III have already confirmed an couple of new rules.  These rules generally impact MVPs in our league.  The biggest of which sees the loss of exclusivity from MVPs.  When questioned about this new rule the league sponsor said ''who doesn't want to see more super stars in our games?  Plus can you imagine how an tense its going to be to see orx play a corporation team with one of their MVPs?''  Can't ait to see how this impacts the game and league strategies for the team managers and coaches.

But let's not forget that there is still two thirds of Series II left to play.

Round 2

Round 2 saw the Humdingers make the trip to play the BeauBro Medina Sod.  The Veer-myn fans are are something else at their home ground and this was evident throughout.  The Medina Sod went out in full attack to take down the Hulk Guard.  At one point they succeeded in injuring the big man for two turns.  But it is hard to keep the man down who returned to killing ways cleaning out Ratowski.  However you can't win the game on kills alone.  Points mean prizes and the Veer-myn scored 5 points throughout the game.  Nevertheless the Hobgoblin's manged to bring the score down to 3 points to the Medina Sod.

Veer-myns did not grieve long for the fallen guard as Ratowski will return to play the GAWANS in the next game.

In other games this round the Flying Dutchmen and GAWANS picked up an MVP each to add more excitement to their bout.  Fan favourite Schnorkel the Avenger sat on the bench for the Nameless spawn whilst Grak joined an under-Judwaned team and played a strong round.  Alas! it was not enough to hold off defeat from a fluke-y Flying Dutchmen team.  The final score was +1 to the Flying Dutchmen who now have a stronghold on 1st place in the SoulStorm Brew Super Series II.

And. Here. We. Go.

It all Kicked off for the SoulStorm Brew Super Series II this week as the match listings were drawn.  In round one we saw the Medina Sod play at home to the Flying Dutchmen and the GAWANS host the Humdingers.  Both games were classics for their various reasons....

The Medina Sod v Flying Dutchmen game saw Future-Hall-Of-Famer Fievil Mousekewtiz one the game (and league) with a stunning 3 point strike.  The game sat at plus three for the rest of the game.  After a lot of injuries and a missed strike from the Medina Sod, the Flying Dutchmen took the opportunity to strike in the dying seconds of the final rush.  4 points in the bag saw the score margin swing in their favour ending the match +1 to the Flying Dutchmen.

Medina Sod's head coach had this to say " fair play to the Dutchmen beating us in the final seconds of the game.  Its a hard loss to take but we showed how strong we are early in the game and will take the positives into the next round."

Whilst the Flying Dutchmen's coach simply said "it was the best game I've ever played."

However on the other side of league the Humdingers made their way to GAWANS turf.  A slight mistake in the starting formation of the GAWANS saw the Humdingers really go to town on the team, with plenty of injuries the GAWANS suffered a great loss.  No less than 5 of their starting line up received fatal injuries leaving their coach at a loss with what to do before the next round.  However they did mange to score enough times to win 6+.  Perhaps the Humdingers coach needs to focus more on scoring next time.  He may have killed 5 players but he still lost the game.

Round 2 has a lot to live up to.  But with MVPs likely to make an appearance it should be another classic.

Guess Who's Back

Somewhere out there someone was saying a prayer and it looks like the BeauBro Medina Sod Verr-myn team have returned to the SoulStorm Brew Super Series II.

Their coach said this, "Finishing first runner up last year showed us what we can do.  Now all we need to do is win this league."

Their team is reportedly very unchanged, meaning future Hall of Famer, Fievel Mousekewitz the only player in the SoulStorm Brew Super Series to die, be resurrected and score in his returning game, is set to light up the arena once again.

Medina Sod, welcome back.

Pre-Season Friendlies

On the eve of the SoulStorm Brew Super Series II the Ultimate Dreadball show took place.  Judging by the game it looks like the Corporation team are pre-season favourites with the Nameless Spawn a close second.  Its still early days but things are really hotting up.
